Vanilla Buttercream Frosting

This classic Vanilla Buttercream Frosting recipe is something that everyone should have in their arsenal. It’s so versatile! This frosting is silky smooth and has the perfect balance of sweet and salty. Perfect on cakes, cupcakes, and cookies.

Ingredients

4 sticks of unsalted butter, softened

10 cups confectioners sugar

1/2 cup whole milk

2 tbsp. vanilla extract

1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

Add butter and vanilla extract to a large mixing bowl, then add confectioner’s sugar one cup at a time.

Make sure to combine salt with sugar for better incorporation into the frosting.

When adding sugar to butter mixture, first mix them on low speed to avoid spilling any sugar, then medium to medium high speed to fully combine.

Once all of the sugar is added, Use the frosting to ice cupcakes, cake, etc. I love it on my Confetti Cake!

Note: This amount of frosting will frost a two-layer cake. The recipe can be halved or if you make this frosting ahead of time, keep it refrigerated until the day you're ready to use it, then defrost on counter top for one to two hours to soften.

Enjoy!
